“The Catholic School, far more than any other, must be a community whose aim is the transmission of values for living. Its worth is seen as promoting a faith relationship with Christ in whom all values find fulfillment.”
Staff of St Joseph’s School have always worked to develop an environment which celebrates faith, strives for excellence and promotes the wellbeing of all. The school motto ‘Faith and Truth’ has become embedded in the school ethos through the years of teaching firstly, by the Sisters of St Joseph followed by the Lay personnel who have staffed the school. Many students, parents and staff look back with a great sense of belonging and achievement.
Some unique features of the school are its size, the positive attitude towards learning of staff and students and the development of the Catholic values of the sacredness of life, stewardship of creation, social justice and moral responsibility. Academically, students are encouraged to realise their full potential in an atmosphere that recognises individual levels of development equipping them with the skills to cope in our world today. The encouragement of fair competition and the provision of opportunities for sporting advancement are also important features of the school.
